Privacy Policy

TFIR Talent Insights (“the Extension”) is a Chrome browser extension designed for recruitment professionals. This policy explains what data the Extension processes, how it is handled, and your rights.
1. Data We Process
The Extension processes the following categories of data to provide candidate enrichment features:
- Candidate profile data — Names, job titles, company names, locations, and other professional information visible on supported recruitment platforms (Seek Talent Search, LinkedIn).
- Contact information — Email addresses, phone numbers, and social media profile URLs obtained through your configured enrichment APIs.
- Personal identifiers — Where applicable and provided by your own data sources: national identification numbers (e.g. NRIC), dates of birth, and related demographic data.
- Configuration data — Your WordPress site URL, API keys (OpenAI, extension API key), and feature preferences, stored locally in your browser via
chrome.storage.local.
2. How Data Is Processed
- Locally in your browser — The Extension runs entirely within your browser. It does not operate a central server or database owned by TFIR Talent Insights.
- Your WordPress server — Candidate data is sent to and retrieved from a WordPress site that you configure and control, via the TFIR Contact Finder plugin. You are the data controller of this data.
- OpenAI API — When AI features are enabled, candidate profile text is sent to the OpenAI API (api.openai.com) using your API key for profile matching and insight generation. OpenAI’s data usage policies apply: openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
- Search engines — The Extension queries Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo to find publicly available LinkedIn profiles and social media links for candidates.
3. Data Storage
All configuration (API keys, preferences) is stored locally in your browser using Chrome’s chrome.storage.local API. No data is stored on servers operated by the Extension developer. Candidate data is stored only on your self-hosted WordPress installation.
4. Data Sharing
The Extension does not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. Data is only transmitted to:
- Your own WordPress server (as configured by you)
- OpenAI’s API (using your own API key, subject to your agreement with OpenAI)
- Public search engines (Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo) for profile discovery
5. Data Retention
The Extension does not independently retain any candidate data. Data persists only in your browser’s local storage (settings/keys) and on your WordPress server. You may delete local data at any time by clearing the extension’s storage or uninstalling it.
6. Your Rights & Responsibilities
As the operator of this Extension and the connected WordPress system, you are responsible for ensuring your use of candidate data complies with all applicable data protection laws (including but not limited to PDPA, GDPR, and local employment law). This includes obtaining any necessary consents and providing notice to data subjects as required.
7. Security
API keys are stored locally in your browser and are never transmitted to the Extension developer. Communication with your WordPress server and the OpenAI API uses HTTPS encryption. We recommend using strong API keys and keeping your WordPress installation secure and up to date.
8. Children’s Privacy
This Extension is designed for professional recruitment use and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance.
