TalentFocus Interview Overlay for Manatal — Chrome Extension
Effective Date: 8 February 2025
1 Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how the TalentFocus Interview Overlay for Manatal Chrome extension (“the Extension”) handles information. The Extension is developed and maintained by TalentFocus (“we”, “us”, “our”).
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Extension is designed to be a simple productivity tool and collects the minimum data necessary to function.
2 Data Collected
The Extension processes the following categories of data:
- Interview data — candidate names, interview dates/times, job titles, and assigned agent information, fetched from your organisation’s TalentFocus WordPress REST API.
- Agent data — agent names and WhatsApp numbers, fetched from your organisation’s TalentFocus WordPress REST API for the purpose of mapping agents to interviews.
- User settings — the API endpoint URL and optional API key that you configure in the Extension’s settings panel.
3 How Data Is Used
Data processed by the Extension is used solely to:
- Display upcoming interview date/time badges on Manatal ATS candidate cards.
- Show interview details (candidate name, job title, agent, date/time) in the Extension’s popup dashboard.
- Match candidate names between the WordPress data source and Manatal candidate cards.
- Resolve agent WhatsApp numbers to display-friendly agent names.
We do not use any data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the Extension’s core functionality.
4 Data Storage
All data is stored locally on your device using the Chrome storage.local API. Specifically:
- Cached interview and agent data (refreshed every 5 minutes).
- Your configured API endpoint URL and API key.
- Last fetch timestamp and error status for diagnostics.
5 Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, lease, or transfer any data to third parties. The Extension does not transmit data to any servers other than:
- Your organisation’s TalentFocus WordPress site (to fetch interview and agent data).
- The Manatal web application (where badges are displayed within the page you are already viewing).
6 Permissions Explained
The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each essential to its single purpose:
- storage — To cache interview data and your settings locally on your device.
- alarms — To schedule automatic data refresh every 5 minutes so interview badges stay current.
- tabs — To notify open Manatal tabs when new interview data arrives, triggering a real-time badge update.
- Host access to
talentfocus.com.my— To fetch interview and agent data from the TalentFocus WordPress REST API. - Host access to
app.manatal.com— To inject interview badges onto Manatal candidate cards via a content script.
7 Third-Party Services
The Extension interacts with two third-party services that are controlled by your organisation:
- TalentFocus WordPress (talentfocus.com.my) — Your organisation’s recruitment website powered by WordPress, from which interview data is retrieved.
- Manatal (manatal.com) — A third-party Applicant Tracking System (ATS) on which the Extension displays interview badges. The Extension reads candidate names from the Manatal interface but does not send any data to Manatal’s servers.
Please refer to each service’s own privacy policy for how they handle your data.
8 Security
We take reasonable measures to protect data processed by the Extension:
- All API communication uses HTTPS encryption.
- Data is stored only in Chrome’s local storage on your device, not on external servers.
- The optional API key feature allows your organisation to restrict access to the WordPress API endpoint.
- The Extension’s content script only runs on
app.manatal.comand does not execute on any other websites.
9 Data Retention
Interview data cached locally is overwritten every 5 minutes with fresh data from your WordPress site. When you uninstall the Extension, all locally stored data — including cached interviews, settings, and API keys — is automatically deleted by Chrome.
You can also manually clear all Extension data at any time via Chrome’s extension settings or by clicking “Save & Refresh” with an empty endpoint in the Extension’s settings panel.
10 Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device and originates from your organisation’s own systems, you have full control over it at all times. You may:
- View all stored data through Chrome DevTools (Application → Local Storage).
- Delete all data by uninstalling the Extension.
- Change or remove the API endpoint at any time via the Extension’s settings.
- Contact your organisation’s administrator to modify or delete interview data at the source.
11 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
