3. How We Use Your Data
All data processing serves the single purpose of the Extension: helping recruiters find job-seeking candidates on LinkedIn.
- Your OpenAI API key is used solely to send requests to the OpenAI API for generating job title suggestions.
- Search preferences are used to construct Google X-Ray search queries targeting LinkedIn profiles.
- LinkedIn profile data is read to detect Open to Work badges and job-seeking keywords.
- Scan results are stored locally so you can review, export, or copy them.
4. Data Storage and Security
All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome’s built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local). No data is stored on any external server, database, or cloud service operated by the developer.
- Your OpenAI API key is stored in
chrome.storage.localand is never transmitted to any party other than OpenAI. - Search preferences and scan results are stored in
chrome.storage.localand never leave your browser. - No cookies, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting techniques are used.
- No analytics or telemetry data is collected.
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
The Extension communicates with exactly two external services:
5.1 OpenAI API
- Your job role query text is sent to OpenAI’s API (
api.openai.com) to generate job title suggestions. - Your OpenAI API key is included in these requests for authentication.
- No other personal data is sent to OpenAI.
- OpenAI’s use of this data is governed by their own privacy policy at openai.com/privacy.
5.2 Google and LinkedIn
- The Extension opens Google search pages and LinkedIn profile pages in your browser. This is standard web browsing activity using your existing browser session.
- No additional data beyond normal browsing is transmitted to these services.
5.3 No Other Sharing
